No leave on national holidays
Hello i was going through this site and came across a topic that was to my interest. snotbeinggivenpg2.html but everybody there was just talking about the working on sundays. no one really discussed national holidays. i work for an offshore it software development company in gujarat. we do get off for other festivals like holi diwali even rakshabandhan and janmashtami. but we work on national holidays. the reason given to us is that since the clients are in the us we have to work according to their schedule. now my question is in this scenario is it valid to work national holidays and if we are working on us standards shouldn t we get christmas and thanksgiving and 4th of july? thanks megha megha.chaudharigmail.com
Clarification on wages for national and festival holidays act.
Dear friends if 'a' employee works on national holiday for eg : 26th jan what he is eligible for getting wages in below? assume his daily average wages rs.200/. a two times of his average wages i.e. one normal paid wages one more wages totally rs.400/ b triple wages of his average wages i.e. one normal paid wages 2 wages for his actual workings like overtime concept totally rs.600/. seeking your kind reply on the above please as i am not able to catch up the clear directions from the books. i request you to add attachments if you have any captures from the legal book about this. regards janarthanan v 8294630594 jana2armdgmail.com
2013 holidays
Hi seniors i am working in a pvt company. many years i am used to the popular national holidays. but recently we all understood by an rti there are no such records or gos declaring republic independence and gandi days as holidays. but somewhere i read that pvt companies should provide 7 hoidays per year 3 national and 4 festival. pls clarify is it a crime working on these three so called national holiday days. can we declare 7 festival holidays specific to our state. please help.

Dear friends i need clarity on the payment of wages to employees coming on national and festival holidays. we have 7 security guards and 3 utility operators coming on national and festival holidays and in each shift. how should i make payment to them? twice or thrice? as overtime or additional present day? how this will reflect in payslips? whether pf and bonus will be calculated on these payments? regards rajesh hansrajani
Clarification on leave policy
Dear all i have recently joined a company into manufacturing mumbai i have been asked to frame the leave policies. company has 15 paid leaves 4 national holidays8 festival holidays. if employees take any leave they deduct the salary and encash 15 paid leaves at the year end. as per law employee has to be given minimum 21 paid leaves. my company is stringent on leaves and says that they will give 21 paid leaves and 4 national holidays no festival holidays. i feel this is not fair on employees part. need suggestions from seniors .
