Default how to handle this situation

Hi,

My friend is working as an Asst.HR,he is handling a team of 2 executives with same designation/salary etc both the executives are equally efficient,honest,dedicated,punctual,regular.Now the problem is that both are requesting leave on 20-July-08.One has to go for his own marrige on 20-July-08 & second is requesting a leave for her mother's operation in bangalore on 20-July-08.Now my friend is in bad situation to whom he should grant leave or to whom not or in short how to handle this situation?

both situations are of same importance. Your friend should grant leave to both of them and arrange a temperory backup in their absence not only for 20th but for future as well

rahul.rohit said you grant leave to both. i m also agree with him becoz both have the solid reason.
