Default Need Ur Help

Hi,

I am constantly reading all topics and I highly appreciate the inputs and efforts of the senior HRs. they are light house of the knowledge.

I am seeking help on fallowing topic:

I am working in a IT co. we have issued a offer letter to candidate, after giving offer letter we checked her credentials from previous employer and found gaps.. she lied about his salary and even duration of service...
we did it on phone. ref check we did was not in written.

I mail her and conveyed that we won’t honor the letter on these grounds.

now she is threatening legal action!!!

please suggest what should be done.

Regards,

Gurinder

Default Contact previous employeer for written conformation

Hi

Gurinder,

I understand the plight that you must be going through now. Any discrepency case has to be attested with a written conformation,You can contact the previous company the candidate was working as you have already done your refrence check and the inputs do not match you can clearly explain to the HR the present senerio . I am sure the HR will help you out with the details as even the previous company will not entertain its ex-employees giving false informations.
If you still need more clarifications on theis you can contact Ms.Krithika who runs an Employee Background Verification Company and has experience handling such issues. You can contact her on 9008716171.

Regards
Vijay

Hi Gurinder,

You can send an email to her pervious employer requesting all the details you require in terms of Experience, Roles&responsibilities, last drawn salary, etc. Once you obtain the information from the current employer, you can tell the employee that you have the written confirmation from the previous employer.

However, going forward, request you to kindly make sure that the following steps are followed to avoid such kind of instances.

-Decide on all the credentials you want to check on a prospective employee
- Inform the candidate of the same during the interview process
-Take a no objection letter from the employee that you can do a background verification on the employee.
-Based on the verification, you want to do, you can either hire a verification agency or communicate your self either through registered post or official email ID.
-Please give a letter of intent to the successful candidate instead of an offer or an appointment letter.
Try to finish the verification of the employee within 3-4 days of the date of joining of the employee and then give the offer or appointment letter to the employee.
-The letter of intent should clearly contain the clause that the employement is valid only upon successful completion of the verification.

Thanks and Regards
