Hi Savitha
ISTD is a 18 month Diploma program. It is through correspondence....Time to time you need to join the contact classes that are optional...it will give you insight of only Training and Development.
MBA will touch all other subjects like Marketing, finance, statistics,Quality, ecomonics ,IT,HR (Personnel,HRD,Labour acts...)...............
In my opinino you should opt for MBA , ther you can specialize HR and can choose T & D as your core subject in the final year....
Now you decided ??????????????
Take Care

hi savita,
first and formost i appreciate your efforts to obtain knowledge.
Always doing an MBA will help you to attain the higher levels in every organisation.
If you are planning for an 2 year full time course it will be great or else if you can spare one year you can look for an Executive MBA which can be completed within 1 year.
If planning to only do the correspondance it will be better if you can lookinto institutes like XLRI and symbiosis. They are offering distance programes upto my knowledge XLRI will be the best if you are planning to specialize in HR
