Dear all,

In a decision given by a supreme court last year, Womens are akkowed to work in night shifts notin particular state but all over india.

You can visit supreme court site for other reference but previously they can't do in factories.

In India, none of the states prevents working for a women in the night. Only condition for this is to have proper plan in place for any organisation.

Dear All

Just got catch hold of some information related to our discussion and that is-

In March 2005 an amendment in the Factories Act came into force to allow women employees in textiles and IT to work late-night shifts with employers providing adequate safeguards at workplace and while commuting.

And also pl find enclosed the complete research study on this topic by ASSOCHAM.

regards

As per the labor laws act women are allowed to work in night shifts provided they have safe working conditions, security at workplace and basically safe commuting from work place to residence
