I need a mentor / coach. are you game?
Firstly thank you very much for reading my post. my name is karen. i recently moved from london to india. i am a double postgraduate economics and hr. i completed my ms in hr through the university of london. i worked for a global leader in telecommunications when in london for the global inclusion platform. during my stint with this particular organisation i found myself being very partial and drawn to global inclusion csr employee wellbeing; and training and development. ive been in india for 3 months now and unfortunately havent been able to score a job yet. i am open to taking up jobs as a trainee due to lack of experience in hands on hr ing but companies seem to have reservations when it comes to employing me because of my experience in london. this has surprised me a little and many others who know me. we actually thought that i would really not have a problem getting a placement due to my work experiences so far which have been with really good organisations touch wood. i have decided not to compromise on the field i want to enter so hr it is when i was back from london i was very fired up. i wanted to do something to make a difference and was all geared up to work in its real sense. well unfortunately i havent started yet recently i was approached by family and was asked to think about starting an hr consultancy and requested to make a kind of a presentation regarding requirements. though interesting the idea does seem a bit daunting and scary as i dont seem to know where to start. i have no prior business experience and no hardcore hring experience. phew i would really appreciate it if someone could be my adviser and guide. i am looking for a mentor someone i might be able to turn to who might be able to help me see exactly what im getting myself into what i should be looking to do etc. if i do go ahead with this project i want it to be extremely successful like im sure everyone else who wants to start a business does. my basic intention behind whatever function i do choose to go ahead with would be to help people im no saying the remuneration isnt important j. i would really appreciate some help and advise. karen afonso

Msc in hrm from university of london - valid in mumbai?
Dear seniors i am currently residing in abu dhabi and have recently enrolled in a masters in organizational psychology/human resource management program with the university of london distance learning. they have a convenient program of a step by step process of achieving your masters. you have the option of directly registering for your masters or earn a certificate for the first 3 modules then move on to the pgdiploma and then the master. so this way you get something tangilble for your progress and if you need to take a break it still works in your favour to have your certificate / pgd to help with career enhancement. anyway my question is would this degree i obtain from the university of london be valid to get a job in mumbai? i am looking to move back to mumbai after completing my masters program. i would appreciate it if someone could inform me on how big "training and development" is within companies in mumbai? thanks and regards a coelho
