Re: HR PROFESSIONALS IN GARMENT INDUSTRY - EXCHANGE OF IDEAS
Hi Friends,
Looks like there are no HR Professionals working in the second largest foreign exchange earning sector i.e., Garment Industry. Probably people will be thinking that it is a tailoring industry, why waste our expertise or break our heads. Friends....it is not definitely a tailoring industry. It has got lot of challenges especially in HR! Every day is a challenge! I am sure there will be atleast some in this industry. Can they come forward and sharge their experiences?

Re: HR PROFESSIONALS IN GARMENT INDUSTRY - EXCHANGE OF IDEAS
Dear Srinaren
Hello!
I have also been in the garment industry and understand the need of training in this sector.
The technology has taken over this sector and there are many employees finiding it difficult to cope with the progress.
The use of computers in this sector has simplified a lot of work. But the sector has plenty people who are actualy SCARED of computers.
The ERP package that this sector uses are very advanced and yet simple.
I feel this sector needs a way to train the employees to use these ERP packages.
I have a software which can be used for creating training material for and ERP package. The software creates a simulated platform and train the employee on this platform. And later it can also be teamed up on the live application to guide the users as to "where" and "what" has to be clicked in the ERP package.
If you give me your email ID, I will send across a profile of my company and a brief intro to the software.
If you are using an ERP package in your firm and are finding it difficult to keep it up and running and having your employees to reugularly use the ERP package, am sure my software will be able to provide soultion to this case.
Hope to hear from you soon. Pease do reply.
My email id is
Thank you
Regards
Yogi.

HR practises in garment industry
Hi,

I finished my B.Sc. Fashion Designing from MIFT, Mangalore and worked as a Production Coordinator at a garment export company in bangalore.
As part of my MBA-HR I want to do a project on the HR policies and its implemntaions in garment industry.

As professionals in this field, would anyone mind suggesting some recent issues particular to this industry? That would be of great help.
