Dear Preeti,
same happened in my company as well but we solved it by sending a simple mail to all female employees of the company requesting for decent dress up in the office for maintaining corporate decorum.

You can also try out the same and if it still prevails then she needs individual counselling.

Dress Code
Hi,

You need to draw up a mailer consisting of what is acceptable and what is not for the dress code. Once thats done keep checking who's not following it. If someone turns up in jeans on a week day, send them home on a forced leave or let them return after they change and come back. Send a mail to the employee marking the supervisor really works for us. It then becomes his responsibility to ensure that the employee follows the same. Involve the line seniors and see the magic work.

regards

Hi,

For this type of problem we should never bother about the opponents emotions whether your words hurt her or something like that...you directly let this know your senior tat you are gonna fire her and do it either 1 .when she is alone or 2.when you are with one or two friends.Think the second way would be best.this is only the warning. If she continues ,You are the HR and you have all the rights to execute a disciplinary action.

She comes to office wearing sensational clothes. We don't have any dress code but we all girls wears descent clothes in office. We are IT software co. with staff of 12 + this new joiner now 13. we wear jeans in week days too but till date we have never felt awkward even wearing capris on Saturdays. All girls and boys wears smart casuals on weekends and in weekdays smart formals or semi formals.
This girl wears salwar kameez also in so vulgar way that it looks so cheap we feel uncomfortable talking with our male staff. All my colleagues are unhappy with her dressing in fact she is giving chance to guys. which is so bad. She wears backless tops with capris or jeans combine this tops with transparent jackets from which every thing is visible, she wears salwaar kameez with horrible necks and backs are always open that too with sleeveless. It looks like she is doing this things purposely she doesn't take care about her exposed body parts. Very soon she will spoil our environment in office.
Being HR i was just watching till date as she is new joiner so i thought it doesn't look good to pinpoint her but now am thinking to drop her email without keeping copy to my director as he is a guy i feel awkward.
Please suggest me should i keep a copy or mark mail to all the girls or to her only. I know no one else needs this email but only i want her to stop wearing all this nonsense clothes at least in office she can wear anything in her personal time.

Please reply me asap so that i can drop her email.

Thanks

Preeti
Dear Preety,

As per your Employee Manual there must be some dress code for your employees. If not ,prepare a stand alone policy( 1-2 pager), get it approved by respective authority and circulate it among all ASAP.Afetr that watch her dress code for a day, if she does not rectify, let her know what is expected out of her.

Hena

Dear Preeti,

As we know it's human nature to wear gud cloths & look gud specially girl'z , u cant not stop any one wearing cloths of their own choice......coz u dont have any particular dress code in u r organasation .......... so my suggestion is put down one common mail to every one & mark a copy to u r big boss ..... dont wory it wont refelct badly coz u r doing u r work as a hr.............. & if after that also she does not understand talk to her personally.............on same . even i have one more gud suggestaion u can arrang training / session on personal grooming only for u r company girl'z, atleast u can afford to hire a trainer only for 1 day ............ which will help u alot ......................
