Internet recruiting is growing at a phenomenal rate and it is said that more than 80% of Fortune's Global 500 co's recruit on the net.This is not only cheap but a lot of time is saved as well , when compared to traditional methods. Earlier this method was mostly used to reach prospectives of IT & engineering fields but now a wider range of jobs are in the picture,as most people have access to the web.Majority of job seekers ,young & old are active in using the web to look out for job opportunities,apply online and do checks on prospective employers.
Internet is used equally by job seekers and employers.Ways that are made use of are thru -
1.Resume Bulletin Boards.
2.Sites that provide online access.
3.Sites that provide search & matching services for a prescribed fee for
job listings.
4.Web sites of organisations that facilitate online submissions of resumes.
Shopping basket,Profiler system,Make friends etc.are ways to allow candidates to land up with plum jobs. Some sites also allow job seekers to
make self assessment to find out the perfect/harmony or value fit to the co.& its culture.
Inspite of its popularity,internet recruiting still accounts for only a small percentage of hires for most co.'s.Besides,the general feeling is that
it is not the best choice for all recruiting needs as most employers & prospectives feel - whatever said and done,face to face time is a must before any decision is made.So,internet recruiting still has a long way to go.......
