Default Strategic Decisions in Recruiting.

Hello all,

Strategic decisions in recruiting are linked to the organisational strategy that has HR Plans which indicate the no. & type of vacancies that are to be filled up as well as the recruiting choices & behaviors .

Based on the HR Plans the recruiting philosophy and goals & priorities are to be set clearly to make recruiting effective and thereby successful.

Recruiting philosophy:Key issues are the following.

Source? Internal or External.
Hiring ? Fill up vacancies or help build careers.
Commitment to diversity?
Orientation to candidates?
Ethics in recruiting.

Recruiting Goals & Priorities:Commonly mentioned are the following.

To attract a huge pool of qualified applicants.
To attract applicants willing to accept offers made.
To minimise the hiring time as far as possible.
To be cost effective.
To hire people who perform well.
To hire people who will stay commited & loyal to the organisation.
To generate positive public relations "Spillover".

Warm Regards,
RGS.
