ESI Round off

HI frds,

i have one doudt if am employee's esi value is 155.06 than what was the round off will be.

IS it Rs.156.00 or Rs. 155.00

Dear Raghavendra,

It will be Rs. 155, as while rounding off a decimal, if the 1st place in the decimal is more than 5, we increase 1 value of the number and if the 1st place in the decimal is less than 5, the value remains the same.

For example -- Rs. 100.05 = Rs. 100 (after rounding off)
Rs. 100.55 = Rs. 101 (after rounding off)

It will be 156.ESI is always taken at a higher rate.
